Getting photographs that you love - it's all about feeling comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera! As a wedding photographer based in Cwmbran, I know how important it is in my sessions that you have a blast and get amazing photos. Here's my secret: I use four simple, easy-to-follow poses that I guide you through every step of the way. And don't worry if you're new to posing - we start with a warm-up session (first 15 minutes) to get you used to being in front of the camera. It's like getting your camera legs! You'll quickly realise that you can't do anything wrong - just be yourself, relax, and let's have fun. By the time we hit the 15-minute mark, you'll be getting the hang of it and I'll be snapping away at your gorgeous, natural moments.
FOR THE MODERN ROMANTICS
Capturing light, feelings & moments and all the things in between people and life.
When it comes to taking amazing photos, two things are crucial: location and lighting. A good location can provide a unique and interesting backdrop for your photos, while good lighting can make your subject look great and add a special something to your images.
Golden hour is a special time of day when the sun is low in the sky, and the light is soft and warm. It's usually around an hour before sunset, but it's worth getting to your location two hours before to get the most out of this amazing light. Here's why:
- The light is usually more flattering, making you both look your best.
- You'll have plenty of time to get some great shots with nice, flattering lighting before your ultimate golden hour shots.
- By getting there early, you'll have a relaxed pace and plenty of time to get comfortable in front of the camera.
By getting to your location two hours before golden hour, you'll have the chance to get images that are soft with a warm glow that makes you and your loved ones look their best. It's a magical time of day that can make even the most ordinary moments look extraordinary.
Before we start the shoot, I like to email you some advice on how to make sure you both feel amazing throughout the process. For example, I recommend wearing your favorite clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable - it's amazing how a simple outfit can boost your mood! It is not compulsory, but I want to make sure that you both feel like the best version of yourselves during the shoot. By doing so, we'll be able to capture even more beautiful and authentic moments together
Take a look at my recent couple shoot below where I share some of my favourite images during my photo session with Ben & Elysia. By incorporating the principles of good lighting, relaxed posing, genuine interactions, and a pretty location, I was able to capture the essence of their relationship. The soft, warm light of the golden hour added a romantic touch to their photos, while their relaxed and natural poses allowed their true emotions to shine through. Also, Ben and Elysia were mindful of what they wore - they chose red, which actually helped us use colour theory to our advantage in the photos! The result was a collection of images that Ben and Elysia truly loved, and that they'll treasure for years to come. I also found out from Elysia that both their family was equally thrilled with the photos, and it was wonderful to see how happy they were with the final result. Working with Ben and Elysia was a true pleasure, and I'm grateful to have been a part of capturing their special love story.
