Last Saturday, I had the loveliest time photographing Emma and Chris for their engagement shoot — and this one truly felt so special.

Emma and I actually go way back. In fact, she was my very first client back in 2020 when I photographed her youngest daughter, Lily. I was only 17 at the time, had just picked up a camera, and decided I wanted to give photography a proper go. I remember being so nervous and excited at the same time — it was one of those moments that just sticks with you. To now be here, five years later, photographing Emma and her fiancé Chris as a Santara bride and groom… it honestly feels like such a full circle moment, and I feel so honoured to be the one capturing their wedding this August.

(Throwback to 2020 - my first ever shoot with Emma’s youngest, Lily. I was 17, just starting out, and had no idea this moment would lead to where I am now)

We met at Linda Vista Gardens in Abergavenny for their shoot, and from the moment we started, Emma and Chris were complete naturals in front of the camera. I always try to create a space that feels relaxed and fun, and they totally embraced it — laughing, chatting, being themselves, and just enjoying each other’s company. You could genuinely feel how much love there was between them, and it made photographing them such a joy.

One of the things I love most about engagement sessions is getting to spend time with my couples before the big day. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other more, have a bit of a laugh, and just enjoy the process of taking photos without any pressure. For me, it’s always about connection and storytelling - and this shoot was full of both.

Emma and Chris, thank you so much for trusting me to capture such a special chapter in your journey. You were both a dream to photograph, and I already know your wedding day is going to be filled with so much love, laughter, and joy. I cannot wait to celebrate with you in just six weeks’ time - bring on August! 🥂
